Pipeline Description

Granite State Gas Transmission, a small 83.2-mile pipeline, extends from the Massachusetts-New Hampshire border through New Hampshire's coastal area to Portland, Maine. Owned by Unitil Corporation and operated by Granite State Transmission, Inc., it operates at around 50% utilization, mainly serving the utility/power sectors. Its largest customer is Northern Utilities. Granite State Gas Transmission, Inc., a unit of Unitil, began operation in New Hampshire in 1956 and extended to Maine in 1966.
