OnSunday,May10,2015,MothersDay,myself,fourotheradultsandtwo children,tookawalktolookattheproposedlocationofacompressortobe builtinPendleton,NY.ThelocationwasbetweenAikenRoadandBeachRidge Road.Wewalkedquiteadistancetotheproposedsiteneartheoldrailroad tracks.FromadistanceIcouldseesomethingbluethroughthewoods.Oneof theotheradultstoldmethatitwasthemercaptanpump.Ijustthoughtitwas apumpintheground.Sincenoneofushadeverseenit,wedecidedtowalk overandseeit.Notknowing,whatthiswas,Isuggestedthatthechildrenstay onthefarm.Uponcrossingovertheditchbetweenthefarmandtheoldrailroad bed,therewasarainbowcoloredsheeninthewateroftheditch.Wecontinued ontothemercaptanpump.Aswecameuptothepump,ontheothersideofthe railroad,whichwasabigfacility,andnotwhatIexpected,somethingscaught myeye.Therewasafencesurroundingitwithagatethatwaslocked.There wassomethinghissing.AsignonthefencewiththenameNationalFuelGas SupplyCorp.withanemergencyphonenumber,andalotoflargebluepipeson thegroundthatwerejustlayingthere.Therewerefoursmallbuildingsnear eachcornerandacamerafacingthegate.Therewasabirdhouseontheleft sidebutnotinthefencedarea.Nothinginthebirdhouse.Therewereseveral pipesgoingintothesesmallbuildings.Inoticedthatthepipeswereslowly dripping.Thetwofrontpipeshadaragandwhatlookedlikeapieceof cardboardundertheareathatwasdripping.Theywerediscolored(brownish)and wet.Thesurfaceofthestationwascoveredwithsmalltomediumrocks.We walkedovertotherightsideback,andtherewasaUshapedpipe,aboutwaist level.Someofthepipesupportshadfallenover.Thepipewasslightly separatedandsometypeofclearliquidwasdrippingoutofit.Thedripping wascontinuous,notliketheotherpipes.Therewasaventpipeabovethis buildingthatthepipewentintoandyoucouldseesometypeoffumescomingout ofit.IcontinuedaroundthebacktotheleftsidebecauseIcouldherethis loudhissingnoise.Anotherbuildinghadtwopipesgoingintoitfromthe backside.Thosepipeswerehissing.Atthatpoint,Ibecamedizzy,nauseated andmylegsfeltweek.TherewasaweirdsmellbutIcouldn'tdetermineifit wasfromthehissingpipesortheventpipe.Iwasfinebeforegettingtothe mercaptanpump.Theotherssaidtheywereleaving.Iputmyfaceinthesleeve ofmyshirtandslowlywalkedtothefront.WhenIcaughtuptotheothers,I toldthemthatIw
